Elemental

"We could all take a lesson from crayons,
Some are bright,
some are dull, some beautiful, Some ugly, and some have
weird names, As
different as they are, They all have to live in the same
box." ~Kristion Morell

All life on this planet is elemental. Everything, everyone, our pets, our enemies, our coworkers and our kin are all made of the same elements and compounds as all other living things.

These atoms join to form compounds, these compounds join to form the amino acids and sugars and fatty acids that then join to form proteins and carbohydrates and lipids. These building blocks unite and interact in a myriad of processes that is the nanoscopic aspect of life. These interactions lead to the building of cells, the true origin of species. When cells of a similar function join together, they make tissues. Tissues join together to make organs, and organs unite to form an organism.

Each and every one of us is a complex creation of trillions of cells, thousands of chemicals, and hundreds of compounds. Neurotransmitters bridge the link between individual neurons and give rise to our consciousness. In this respect, all of our feeling, beliefs, thougts and emotions are a combination of chemistry and physiology. Why is it than that we regard some humans as being better than others?

Who are we to assign a value on an individual just because they look different, or they are of a different gender, or we dont agree with their religion or beliefs? what gives us the right to descriminate aginst someone because we disagree on petty issues?

The blood running throughout my body, through my arteries and veins, can easily be taken and transplanted into someone else without incident. Nothing is more fundamentally uniting than a blood donation. The very substance that sustains every nanometer of living tissue in my body can do the same thing for another human, be it a man, woman, infant, or child. Blood does not care what religion somebody is, or what sexual orientation they are. Blood is blood, just as humans should be humans.

It is a tragedy of unprecedented proportions that, as biologically advanced as we are, we cannot learn to sette our differences or treat one another equally. What do we have to show for ourselves: The financially wealthy family sitting at home in their mansion, eating extravagantly while just miles away a poor family must work several jobs at minimum wage just to make ends meet.

We have let our society become corrupted by the obsession of collecting the most material goods. Is the real test of human achievement really who has the biggest bank ballance?

Inside each and every one of us resides the power to make a difference. United, we can bring change to a land where corruption is rampant, and a constant battle for personal gain is fought perpetually. We must look past our wants and finances and resolve to fix our mistakes.

Of course, what good is this entry going to do? without action, words are meaningless. But think about it the next time you come across someone and equate them to a stereotype: that person is almost geneticly identical to you. Only through trust and honesty can one truely gain insight into the thoughts of another.

There must be problem with DNA because clearly you come from another evolutionary branch. Perhaps you can explain this to me???
