Let me start off by saying that I started this blog so i can get extra credit for my english class. I suppose that I have always thought about starting a blog, but this finally spurred me into action.
One of the reasons that i didnt want to start a blog originally was because that at the time, it seemed like a fad. EVERYONE had a blog, and over time, they just drifted away, leaving lots of empty domain names. Sure, the concept of blogging is a great one, but are we to be naive enough to believe that whordes of people will flock to our blogs and read them with real interest? Seems like, for some, a blog is a desparate cry for attention, because they cant find enough contact with others in person, so they reach out on the internet. I dont like to sound desparate.
On the other hand, I do admit that blogging does have a certain appeal to it. Here, i can post my feelings on any number of issues when i feel like it, and be able to read how others feel as well. I am free to write about what i wish, and not endure the hand cramps inherrent with journal writing. Besides, a blog is public! let my opinion be known! agree, disagree, whatever: its still up there for others to acknowledge, if they so desire.
I suppose this concludes my first post. I will try to blog regularly, but my track record with any sort of journal writing leaves much to be desired. Hopefully the ease of typing a new post will help me overcome my journalistic lethargy
